Looking for something to do this long weekend? 👀
There are so much to do and see throughout the county, here are some of the many attractions for the perfect day out!

Enjoy a guided tour of St Laserian’s Cathedral in Old Leighlin, Carlow’s oldest working building featuring architecture from every century since it was first built. This is a 13th century gem built on the site of the original monastic settlement of the 7th century. In celebration of Easter free guided tours are on offer from Friday 29th March – Monday 1st April. Led by Padraig Dooley, visitors are promised an informative and entertaining tour between the hours of 12 – 4 p.m. (tours on the hour, last tour 3 p.m.)

Enjoy a free guided tour at Duckett's Grove each weekend with Danny McDaid who brings the history of this great house and family to life with an informative and entertaining tour. Duckett’s Grove, the 18th, 19th and early 20th century home of the Duckett family, was formerly at the centre of a 20,000-acre estate that has dominated the Carlow landscape for over 300 years. Even in ruin, the surviving towers and turrets of Duckett’s Grove form a romantic profile making it one of the most photogenic historic buildings in the country.

Huntington Castle & Gardens is a destination of effortless relaxation, outstanding beauty, and fascinating history. Now open every day over the Easter holidays until 7th April. Tours of the castle are at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
Huntington Castle is set in over 160 acres of gardens, woodland and farmland. The castle features a fascinating guided tour which explains its 17th century history. The tour also features the world-famous Temple of Goddess located in the old castle dungeons. The castle offers gardens, a fabulous woodland playground, as well as a charming tearoom and gift shop.

Meet some local food producers at Carlow Farmers Market Saturday Morning from 9am to 2pm. Carlow Farmers’ Market is widely recognised as one of the best run producer markets in the country. It has proven hugely popular as customers embrace its unique and relaxed ambience and the wide variety of home baking. chutneys and jams, organic meats, and lots more on offer.

Carlow County Council Community Information, in collaboration with key local partners has announced the launch of Opportunity 2024 a skills survey aimed at shaping the future investment and opportunities for County Carlow.

Whether you're a resident, a professional, or a student, your insights are invaluable.
